While we were not able to create a group exhibition in a public space this year, we created an online exhibition to celebrate the diversity of artists and their work who are members of Harrow Open Studios.
Many of the pieces were for sale. It was a new experience for all of us. While we would always prefer to meet in person and share our work, it was good to find a way to stay in touch.

The Harrow Open Studios Winter Festival is our first online exhibition. You can view original art by our local artists, designers and makers, all of which are available to purchase. An online exhibition showcasing the communities of South Asians either living or working in Harrow was curated by Headstone Manor and Museum included Harrow Open Studios’ artist Mallika Gardinder. This celebration of South Asian Heritage Month commemorates, marks and celebrates South Asian history and culture in Harrow to build an understanding of the diverse heritage that continues to link Harrow with South Asia.

In our 10th year we are pleased to introduce 10 new artists. In total 39 individual artists will be exhibiting in and around Harrow in 26 Studios. We are also pleased that the students of Harrow College are also taking part with a special exhibition of their work at their Harrow Weald Campus.
On Friday 7 April a Private View was held to celebrate the launch of Harrow Open Studios Annual Exhibition at Harrow Arts Centre. This a Taster Exhibition of artists’ work will help you decide which studios to visit during the Open Studios weekends in June. Some of the work will be for sale.
The exhibition continues in the Arts Centre’s gallery and corridors to 30th May 2017, open Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm
This year’s brochure cover image is one of new artist Artswati’s paintings. Her work is about pure luminous, deep set colours in all their depth and luminosity and can be seen at her studio near Harrow on the Hill.

Harrow Open Studios’ artists are supporting visitors, patients and staff at Harefield Hospital with an exhibition in the Rebeat Gallery and Hungry Hare Restaurant.
It is hoped that the works will brighten the experience of those who visit the hospital. Most of the artworks are for sale with 30% donated to support special projects in the hospital.
The site of the exhibition is especially apposite for Open Studios’ artist Jonathan Hutchins who has created a series of work about the ANZAC soldiers in the first world war. Harefield Hospital was initially established as a convalescent centre in 1915 by the owners of the land who were Australian family Billyard-Leakes. There is an ANZAC graveyard nearby to this day.
