Mayor presents prizes at annual Children’ Art Competition

On Saturday 29th June 2013 Nana Asante, The Mayor of Harrow presented the prizes for our annual Children’s Art Competition in the Pinner Library, Marsh Road.

The artwork was then on display for a week.

There were over 30 entries including paintings, paper sculpture, hangings, and 3D works – representing the mix within Harrow Open Studios’ artists.

The winners were:
Jeevan Singh Sagoo in the four to six-year-old category with his Ping Pong Car.
Maegan Marston triumphed in the seven to eight-year-old category with her painting Riverbanks.
Katie Pelham took home the top prize in the nine to 10-year-old category with her picture called Dad.
Sophie Gray’s Lost In The Wild won over the judges in the 11-year-old and over category.

Previous Year’s Art Competitions

2012

Councillor Lurline Champagnie opened the 2012 exhibition. She was highly impressed with the standard of work and presented eighteen prizes to the winners.

The age range of entrants was from 4 – 16 years of age.

2011

The 2011 competition surprised all with its popularity and the skill and diversity of the work entered. Entries were in a diverse range of media and techniques including clay, collage, paint, glass and photography.

The Deputy Mayor presented the prizes in Pinner Library on 2 July 2011 and congratulated all on the quality of the entries. The work was displayed in the library for a week and there were many compliments received from all involved.
