Koola Adams at Letter in Mind

Koola Adams

I will be exhibiting in the annual A Letter in Mind exhibition, part of the National Brain Appeal charity.
This year, the vibrant community of contributing artists has chosen the theme ‘The Wonder of Colour’. Starting with a simple envelope, artists, patients, and supporters showcase how they’ll bring the wonder of colour to life in envelope artworks.

The lineup of well-known A Letter in Mind contributors includes luminaries such as Axel Scheffler, Leigh Francis (Keith Lemon), Tracey Emin, Morag and Ishbel Myerscough, Chantal Joffe, Indira Varma, Chris Riddell, and Dame Zandra Rhodes.

Each artwork is priced at £85, and all pieces will be exhibited and sold through the online gallery, aletterinmind.org , with the option to view them in person at Gallery Different, 14 Percy St, London W1T 1DR. All proceeds from sales will go towards supporting vital projects at Queen Square National Brain Appeal. Last year, the 10th-anniversary celebration pushed the overall total raised over a decade to more than £300,000 – an incredible achievement.

Online preview: From 11am on 29 October Online sales: From 11am on 31

Painter

Sarah Levin’s distinctive flowerscapes are characterised by her use of vibrant colours, often worked in fluorescents and always with pearlescent blended to create interesting effects.

Working on canvas, on the flat, the fluid paint is layered to create colourful striped grasses on which the flowers are created allowing the surface tension of the paint to form organic shapes. The drying process takes several days and the true effects of the paint are slowly revealed.

Influenced by a love of flowers, music and colour, the unique properties of acrylic paint allow Sarah to combine colours that clash and harmonise as in nature.

Painter / Collage / Mixed Media Artist

Since childhood she was passionate about drawing and colouring, but her lifestyle never allowed her to follow her passion until later in life. Now that she paints, she never limits herself. Being versatile, she chooses any subject, tries her hand in any medium, sometimes even paints the same subject in different mediums just to challenge herself. Her motto is “ Paint whatever you fancy, whenever you fancy”
