Painter

I find pleasure in carrying on the very British tradition of watercolour painting. As a landscape artist I find inspiration from the rugged Cornish coastline to the white sandy beaches of Northern Scotland. A selection of my work is displayed in my gallery.

Ceramicist

All Zalina’s decorative contemporary stoneware and ceramic pieces are handmade functional.

As a hobby potter she has great fun making a variety of shapes and sizes. The range ranges from plates, mugs, bowls and casserole dishes to birds and chickens to mention a few. She also enjoys the magic of pit firing.

Zalina collects ceramics for enjoyment not monetary value and is inspired by visiting other Open Studios Events and Ceramic Exhibitions where she can meet lots of fantastic potters willing to share their knowledge with you.

All proceeds from Zalina’s sales are in aid of St Luke’s Hospice and Macmillan Team.

Mixed Media Artist

Having lived in Kenya, UK, Singapore and India, Ketna has been widely acclaimed for converting her Global insights into a compelling visual vocabulary that has injected a fresh counter expression to the predominantly western dominated narrative of World Art.

Using different cultures and historical events, Ketna juxtaposes mythological characters, Gods, political icons and the common man on the same canvas. There is a fresh romance between the old and the new, breaking through stringent cultural, political, and class boundaries that have dominated the world for centuries.

This colourful and confident visual language has been applied onto Art, Fashion, Furniture … virtually on any surface imaginable!

Painter / Mixed Media Artist

Gill creates energetic, exciting abstract art in acrylics on panels, paper and canvas. Working intuitively, but always mindful of brushstrokes, mark making and composition, Gill’s each piece undergoes many changes as decisions are made and the painting builds up. Risk playing is a big part of her creative process, always leading to interesting conclusions.

Painter

Humay studied illustration at the Harrow School of Art in the early 1980’s. A return to Art saw him join Cheryl Gould’s life drawing classes. One thing led to another and his controlled illustration style gave way to a freer gestural method and he is now a member of the Harrow Art Society and Harrow Open Studios.

Humay’s subject matter is very personal including friends, family and himself and their interests. Humay uses oils for his imaginative studies and his life drawings are developed using mixed media (usually oils, charcoal and ink).

He raised money for charity by running a life drawing class which was captured on film and is now running weekly life drawing classes in person.

I will set up a co-production activity which entails my self in conjunction with the visitors painting on a large single canvas.

Ceramic Artist

Nicole works in her garden studio using a variety of clays; stoneware, earthenware, porcelain and crank, in as many different ways as she can envisage; throwing, slab building, coil building and sculpting. She mixes her own glazes using oxides and stains to colour them. She likes to try out different glaze methods; dipping, spraying, painting and wax resist. Such a variety of materials and methods results in a variety of ceramic pieces; functional, sculptural, fun and serious, but all made with care and consideration of the final piece.

Nicole’s work reflects her life caring for two children with cystic fibrosis. To be successful (and sane) in this situation one must be flexible and rigid at the same time, with infinite patience, an enormous sense of humour and an appreciation of the importance of fun whilst dealing with serious situations.

To buy or commission a piece you can go through her website www.nlceramics.org and she will welcome the opportunity to go on a clay adventure together.

Painter

Harinder Sahota is an artist and teacher, who lives and works in London. She graduated from University of Plymouth, having gained a BA (Hons) in Illustration. Her professional career took her to Hong Kong and Singapore where she worked as a freelance illustrator for various publishing houses and then as a graphic designer – finally returning to the UK in 1998.

Harinder has been teaching drawing and painting for the last 14 years to adults and children at Harrow Arts Centre and Heath Robinson Museum.

In 2022 Harinder decided to take a break from teaching and is now fully immersed in developing her own work. She has a particular interest in faces and people, believing that the painted portrait speaks to people in a way that the written word and photography cannot.
