Mixed Media Artist/ Painter

Adele Cloony is a London based artist who trained in both visual and internal martial arts. Embodying energy and spirit through the brush onto paper, she mindfully combines both considered and spontaneous free flowing gestural marks to express her inner dialogue. She sees many parallels with her painting and Tai Chi practice, one of them being that: “They are both forms of moving meditation. Being in the present moment, by quieting the mind, with no mind contemplating emptiness, connecting mind and body, becoming one with all things – no separateness but all interconnected.” Predominantly using traditional oversized Chinese brushes, incorporating essences of ancient philosophies, together with contemporary mediums, connecting mind, body and breath to create her artwork.

Textile Artist / Painter/ Printmaker

Although primarily a textile artist Jane also paints and draws using a range of media including watercolour, oil and charcoal. The theme of her work is mainly based on natural forms and landscapes.

There will be a collection of hand painted silk scarves on display and some that that have been commercially printed.
In addition to this, portraits, life drawings and landscapes will also be exhibited.

Ceramicist

All Zalina’s decorative contemporary stoneware and ceramic pieces are handmade functional.

As a hobby potter she has great fun making a variety of shapes and sizes. The range ranges from plates, mugs, bowls and casserole dishes to birds and chickens to mention a few. She also enjoys the magic of pit firing.

Zalina collects ceramics for enjoyment not monetary value and is inspired by visiting other Open Studios Events and Ceramic Exhibitions where she can meet lots of fantastic potters willing to share their knowledge with you.

All proceeds from Zalina’s sales are in aid of St Luke’s Hospice and Macmillan Team.

Painter

Christine is a painter and illustrator working in a variety of mediums, including oils, acrylics and watercolours. She is happy to accept commissioned work can be contacted through her e-mail address.

Christine was born in London and studied at St Martins School of Art. She went on to be a Greeting Card Artist for Academy Cards until she had her two daughters when she became an art teacher in senior state school and the independent sector. She currently runs adult classes.

Cheryl takes commissions in many different mediums and subjects including portraits, animals, landscapes, still life and work from imagination. She has produced scenery for many theatre productions and also murals. Christine has exhibited in America, Hong Kong and the UK.

Wood Turner

Gordon’s decorative and functional pieces are made mainly from UK hard woods or recycled builders’ off cuts in an effort to reuse our valuable natural resources. Gordon also up-cycles wooden pieces, saving them from landfill, proceeds of these pieces go to Nerve Tumours UK.

Sculptor

Caroline Russell is a member of the Royal Society of Sculptors, working in clay, plaster, marble, Portland stone and jesmonite from her Stanmore studio. Her sculptures are cast to order in strictly limited editions in foundry bronze or bronze resin, or available as unique stone carvings or jesmonite pieces. Caroline also has a range of paintings, prints, sculptural prints and sculptural paintings.

Caroline graduated from Leeds University and studied sculpture privately under Patricia Finch FRSS. She has been a professional sculptor since 1993 and her sculptures have been shown in galleries and exhibitions throughout Britain and sold to buyers from as far afield as Hong Kong, New York, Switzerland,Brazil and Australia. Her work is inspired by Henry Moore, Picasso and African carvings, and from the sheer enjoyment of doing work that she loves.
